Nature Themed Pinch Pots

After a class nature walk, students incorporated natural elements such as leaves, grasses, flowers, bark, and branches into a design for their pinch pots.



Students were able to develop their pinch pot into the shape of their natural element, such as a flower, or carve it into the pot using relief sculpture. Students were also able to glaze on patterns or designs that replicated their nature theme... Here are some in progress works.

Beginning the Spring Art show...

Life skills students created coral and used spray dye to color beautiful fish, sea horses and sea turtles. We assembled these into a 4x6 foot Great Barrier Reef...

Students added paint to develop their image, and created an emphasis by making deliberate border color choices.

Peaceable kingdoms

Students in Art 1 looked at Holy Mountain and Peaceable Kingdom and discussed a utopia of different peoples and cultures living in peace.



Students then completed a drawing in this style representing animals that would normally have a predator / prey relationship cohabiting in one habitat.
