Freshman Coral Reef collages

Freshman students used a dye transfer technique with tissue paper to create coral reef collages.

Stippling Work

Art 3 and 4 students selected images of their choice and completed a stippling representation.

Monotype Prints

After learning the process of creating monotype prints, students used nature as a loose inspiration and set to work.   Each student had to submit three successfully completed prints, one of which had to be at least two layers of color.

Some Social Comment Pieces

Students identified issues in society that were of concern for them, and developed possible methods for best expressing that issue visually. Then they began the process of designing, constructing, and completing those pieces, with a summary of their purpose to accompany the installation.

Sculpture Unit - Greek Vases

After learning about Greek pottery techniques and terminology, the ladies started by building a balloon and cardboard tube framework and set to covering it in paper mache.

After that was completed ladies had to decide on a style, where to place their handles, if they wanted lids, etc...

Once these were completed, students painted their vases to the base color of their choice...

Some Completed Pointillism Pieces

Students drew inspiration from the pointillism style and developed color and depth in their still lifes using markers.

Beginning a Pointillism Still Life

Students are applying concepts of Art History, composition, color theory and craftsmanship to their Pointillism pieces. After studying Seurat and Signac, students are ready to tackle their own work, using a spring still life for imagery.
