After school Talent Center Show Dec 8, 2011
I teach an after school program for local middle school students, and this session we completed a coral reef theme, with painted coral reef backdrops, paper mache and yarn jellyfish, and ceramic coral pieces. iT was a lot of fun and turned out beautiful and colorful!

Painting Techniques Unit - Introduction to Painting
Students completed these nature themed india ink batiks after studying nature from life and creating sketches. The sketches were used as the basis for the compositions. Students looked at works like the Haystacks" by Monet for reference of drawing their sketches quickly before a leaf curls or color fades.

Social Comment / School Climate - Posters and Contest
Our administration had a special assignment for my students. Students were tasked with creating an image and slogan representing positive school climate under one of the following four categories: what does respect look like? what does responsibility look like? school cleanliness and anti bullying. Voting is being held, and first second and third place winners will be announced shortly. Here are some examples of the work...
